[bright_and_beautiful]

Jenny loves the church. It's beautiful even for a small church, of course, but it's just... she feels peaceful here. It's relaxing. She likes it here. She doesn't go to Catechism herself any more, but her siblings are still there for the most part, and she would just have to come back for them anyway. If it was a nice day maybe she would go outside while she was waiting, enjoy the nice weather, but it is one of those cold and miserable sort of drizzle days that no one likes. Even Jenny. So, she'll be in the church, waiting for Catechism to end.

She curls up in the side of one of the pews towards the back and settles into a half doze. So peaceful and quiet. She'll just be here, feeling content, until otherwise disturbed.

"I volunteer the ducklings as practice," Jenny giggles.

"That might actually be, like, useful experience! If I try to counsel somewhere that's picky."

[bright_and_beautiful]

"Are there a lot of places that are that picky...?"

"I don't know, I haven't tried it before."

[bright_and_beautiful]

"Me neither! I mean... I am sorta already a camp counselor, right?"

"If you call your house camping."

[bright_and_beautiful]

"My house is totally sturdier than a tent. But the food's probably about the same..."

[keyed_up]

"And you've got plumbing."

[bright_and_beautiful]

"I would say 'and it's so useful for keeping the ducklings clean', but I don't think I could get Patrick to stay clean even if he lived underwater."

[keyed_up]

"He'd get algae and pond muck all over him?"

[bright_and_beautiful]

"Sand. Squid ink. Weird fish goop. We never underestimate Patrick's capacity for finding new and interesting things to stain himself with."

Soph giggles.

There's time for some more gossiping and giggling, but it is soon time for Jenny to head home. She thanks Soph for showing her her "awesome new hobby" and reminds her that they should have an "arts and crafts party" at some point, and then her mother arrives and off she goes.
